Freeze Corleone

Real name Issa Lorenzo Diakhaté, rapper Freeze Corleone was born on June 6, 1992 in Les Lilas, Seine-Saint-Denis. Born to a Senegalese father and an Italian mother, he grew up in Dakar after spending his early years in Pantin. There, he met a number of young rappers, with whom he launched the Ligue des Ombres collective. Moving to Montreal, Canada, he discovered the North American scene, particularly Atlanta and Chicago. His first project, a mixtape entitled À la Recherche de la Daillance, was released in 2011, heralding a prolific period for Freeze Corleone, with releases almost every year until Projet Blue Team in 2018. In 2012, he released a new mixtape entitled Vieilles Merdes, which was followed by Vieilles Merdes Vol. II in 2016. Interspersed with mixtapes with his Ligue des Ombres project, the rapper's career has been marked by his provocative tone and, in particular, his many references to conspiracy theories and Nazi Germany. So when his first proper album, LMF(La Menace Fantôme), was released in 2020, and immediately became a hit in the French charts, the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA) drew attention to it. The Paris public prosecutor's office immediately opened an investigation for "incitement to racial hatred and racist insults". His distributor Universal immediately stopped working with him. However, this did not prevent the album from achieving platinum certification in 2021, with over 100,000 copies sold. In 2022, he teamed up with Ashe 22 for the collaborative mixtape Riyad Sadio, featuring the track "Cartier", which reached number 50 in the French charts. Three years to the day after LMF, in 2023, the rapper topped the French charts with the album ADC, whose acronymic title also refers to an episode in the Star Wars saga: Attack of the Clones. He released two singles, "Shavkat" (No. 3 in France and certified gold) and "Amérique du Sud" (No. 23).
