Originating in Los Angeles, Gabriels is a modern soul trio featuring singer Jacob Lusk and producers Ari Balouzian and Ryan Hope. As a background vocalist and choral arranger for artists like Diana Ross, Jacob Lusk began working with the aforementioned pair — owners of the Los Angeles-based studio Appraiser — in 2016. Inspired by soul, R&B, and doo-wop, the musicians made their debut as Gabriels with 2018's "Loyalty," followed in 2020 by the cinematic piano ballad "In Loving Memory." The trio released the minimalistic single "Blind" in 2020 and marked 2021 with the upbeat "Love and Hate in a Different Time," which was also the name of their first self-released EP that year. In 2022, they received widespread critical acclaim for their debut album, Angels & Queens Part 1.
