Kwabs

British soul singer Kwabs was born Kwabena Sarkodee Adjepong in London on April 24, 1990. The artist grew up with foster parents in the Bermondsey district of the British capital. Kwabs' biological parents are from Ghana. After a teacher recognized his musical talent, she sent him to the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, where he spent years as a singer. He later studied jazz at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2011, he took part in the TV show Goldie's Band - By Royal Appointment and performed at Buckingham Palace. in 2012, Kwab's cover version of the song "Like a Star" went viral on the internet and was subsequently signed to Atlantic Records. in 2014, the debut EP Wrong or Right was released with the single of the same name. The debut album Love + War followed in May 2015 and reached number 12 in the charts in Switzerland, number 26 in Germany and the UK and number 44 in Austria. The single "Walk", which had already been released at the end of 2014, rose to the top of the German charts and reached the top 3 in Austria. Kwabs worked on the album Love + War together with British rapper and soul musician Plan B and Dave Okumu. The single "Willing & Able", a collaboration with Disclosure, was released in August 2015. The song reached 70th place in the British charts. The single " Signals" with Kosovan DJ Regard was released at the beginning of 2021.
