Gué Pequeno

Known for his involvement with celebrated hip-hop acts Club Dogo and Sacre Scuole, Gué Pequeno (born Cosimo Fini on December 25, 1980) is an Italian rapper and producer. An early champion of hip-hop in his home country, Fini started rapping under the pseudonym Il Guercio in 1997 before joining Sacre Scuole alongside schoolmate Dargen D’Amico and Jake La Furia. The short-lived outfit released the album 3 MC's al Cubo (1999) before splitting up due to creative differences. Shortly after, Fini and La Furia created Club Dogo, adding producer Don Joe as a third member. In the following years, the MC embarked on a fruitful solo career, releasing the mixtapes Hashishinz Sound Vol. 1 (2005), Fastlife Mixtape Vol. 1 (2006), and Fastlife Mixtape Vol. 2 - Faster Life (2009), all of which became cult classics in the underground hip-hop scene. Il Ragazzo d’Oro (2011), his studio debut, fulfilled the promise of his previous mixtapes by climbing up to Number 5 on the Italian charts. An even greater success, Bravo Ragazzo (2013) peaked at Number 2 on FIMI’s Album Chart and obtained platinum certification after selling over 70,000 copies. In 2015, after becoming the first Italian artist ever to sign with Def Jam Recordings, Fini released Vero, a commercial blockbuster and his first Number 1 record in his native country. The rapper’s popularity continued to rise in subsequent years with the experimental, auto-tune-laden Santeria (2016), recorded in collaboration with fellow MC Marracash, Gentleman (2017), and Sinatra (2018), all of which achieved record sales and reached the top of the Italian charts. At the turn of the decade, Gué Pequeno came back with Mr. Fini (2020), another chart-topping effort with guest appearances by Alborosie, Carl Brave, and Rose Villain. A collaborative mixtape with DJ Harsh saw the light in 2021 under the title Fastlife 4 and included the track “Smith & Wesson Freestyle,” an old-school hip-hop throwback that featured Marracash and climbed to Number 3 on the Italian Singles Chart. Preceded by the single "Veleno," which went to Number 2 in Italy, his chart-topping seventh studio album Guesus appeared in late 2021 and featured cameos by Rick Ross and Jadakiss, and production by Shablo, Sixpm, and DJ Shocca.
