Johann Michael Söllner, who goes by the name Hans Söllner, is a German reggae and folk singer known for narrative songs with socially conscious lyrics. He taught himself to play the guitar, began writing songs and won a local talent contest before making his recording debut in 1983 with the album 'Endlich Eine Arbeit'. He has released several albums since then including 'Hey Staat!' (1989), 'Der Charlie' (1992), 'Grea Göib Roud' (1995), 'a jeda' (1997), 'Babylon' (2001), 'Im Regen' (2005), 'Vietnam' (2007), 'Mei Zuastand' (2011), 'Zuastand 2' (2013) and 'Genug (2018). His 2019 schedule was to include appearances at Black Forest on Fire 2019 in Berghaupten and other venues across Germany and Austria.
