History was a K-pop boy band formed in Seoul, South Korea, by LOEN Entertainment in April 2013. The group was made up of members Kyungil, Dokyun, Sihyoung, Jaeho, and Yijeong. Before their official debut, its members gained experience in the industry: Kyungil had appeared in music videos and dance performances, Dokyun was a vocalist for rock/ballad group Buzz, Sihyoung had appeared on Ulzzang Generation Season 3, and Yijeong had participated in Birth of a Great Star 2. The group debuted in 2013 with the release of the single "Dreamer," featuring narration by labelmate IU. This marked LOEN Entertainment's foray into male idol groups. In August 2013, the group released the single "Tell Me Love" and a mini-album titled Just Now. The group was nominated for Best New Artist at the 5th Melon Music Awards in 2013. Their second mini-album, Blue Spring, was released in November of that year, featuring the track "What Am I to You." Yijeong also featured on IU's single "Friday," which achieved a huge amount of domestic and international success. History released their third EP, Desire, in 2014, featuring the track "Psycho." History were also nominated as New Rising Stars at the 28th Golden Disk Awards that year. The group's fourth EP, Beyond the History, saw the light in 2015. The following year, they released their fifth and final EP, Him. Despite a steadily growing fanbase and a record of increasingly successful releases, the group disbanded on May 12, 2017, as members were due to fulfill South Korea's compulsory military service. After their military service, the members remained signed to Loen Entertainment and focused on individual activities.
