Huwie Ishizaki is a Japanese singer and songwriter. He was born on March 7, 1984, in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Raised in a household influenced by artists like Tom Waits and David Bowie, he developed an early passion for music. After graduating high school, he formed a band during his college years, focusing on original compositions. The band, named Astrcoast, disbanded in 2010. Transitioning to a solo career, Huwie Ishizaki met music producer Akira Sudou, which led him to sign with Epic Records Japan. He released his debut EP Daisan Wakusei Koukyokyoku in 2012, followed by his first single "Fantastic Radio" later that year. Achieving notable success, his songs "Sayonara Elegy" and "Niji," which were provided to Masaki Suda, amassed over 200 million streams across various platforms. In 2013, Huwie Ishizaki contributed the song "Night Flight" for a TV Tokyo drama, and in 2018, he released his album Huwie Best. The same year, he embarked on a national tour with 48 performances and released his rendition of "Sayonara Elegy." His career continued to rise, and he was later chosen for the opening theme of the 2019 anime series Dr. Stone, with his track "Wasagetaki" becoming an international hit. In addition to his successful music career, Huwie Ishizaki has ventured into acting, featuring in films such as Azumi Haruko Is Missing and Sora no Restaurant. In 2023, his album 宇宙百景 climbed to Number 27 on the Top 100 of the Japanese Albums Chart.
