Jin

Praised for his pristine falsetto and wide emotional range, singer-songwriter Kim Seok-jin (December 4, 1992), better known as Jin, rose to unimaginable levels of global popularity as a member of K-pop act BTS, the best-selling artist in South Korean history. Born in the city of Gwacheon, he switched his initial ambitions of becoming a journalist for the performing arts after watching Kim Nam-gil's Queen Seondeok. Despite being scouted by SM Entertainment in high school, Jin refused the offer to continue his acting studies. A few years later, he was scouted once again by Big Hit Entertainment while walking down the street and, this time, he agreed to join the media giant's roster as an idol trainee. Ever since his official debut with BTS in 2013, Jin went on to co-write some of the group's most well-known songs, including "Wings" (2016), "Epiphany" (2018), and "Moon" (2020). In addition, he has also made appearances on the soundtracks of the films Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016) and Jirisan (2021). "Tonight," his first original composition, was issued in 2019 to commemorate the sixth anniversary of BTS' debut. In 2022, the single "Abyss," released as a gift to fans before his 28th birthday in 2020, entered the South Korean Top 200 at Number 147.
