Kim Tae-hyung (December 30, 1995), better known by his stage name V, is a South Korean singer and actor who rose to fame as a vocalist for the hugely popular boy band BTS. Born in Daegu and raised in Geochang County, he harbored ambitions of becoming a professional entertainer from a very early age, taking saxophone lessons in middle school and eventually becoming a trainee for Big Hit Entertainment. V made his debut with BTS in 2013 on the track “No More Dream” from their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool and went on to make significant contributions to the group’s catalog, including the songs “Hold Me Tight,” “Run,” and “Stigma.” In 2016, he made his acting debut in the historical drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth and contributed to the film’s soundtrack with the song “It’s Definitely You” alongside bandmate Jin. The single “Scenery,” his official debut as a solo artist arrived in 2019 and set an all-time streaming record by reaching 100 million streams just two weeks after its release. That same year, V issued the single “Winter Bear,” followed by “Snow Flower” featuring Peakboy in 2020 and "Christmas Tree" in 2021. Preceded by the singles "Love Me Again," "Rainy Days," and "Slow Dancing," his highly anticipated solo studio debut Layover hit the shelves in 2023, with V 'LAYOVER' 1 appearing later in September, climbing to number 6 on the Top 200 album charts in France.
