Ivan Cornejo

Regional Mexican music artist Iván Cornejo was born on June 5, 2004, in Riverside, California. After breaking up with his girlfriend in high school, he found solace in music and learned how to play the guitar by watching online tutorials. He cites T3R Elemento and Grupo Los De La O as some of his earliest influences. Preceded by the singles "Noche de Relajo," "Llamadas Perdidas," and "Corazón Frío," his studio debut Alma Vacía arrived in 2021 and became an instant hit, reaching number 2 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart and selling over 6,000 units. "Está Dañada," one of the singles from the album, went viral on social media later that year and became the second regional Mexican song to enter the Billboard Hot 100. This success helped his follow-up album Dañado reach the top of the Regional Mexican Albums chart in 2022, earning his label Manzana Records their first number 1 credit. That year, he was nominated for New Regional Mexican Artist at the Premios Juventud. Iván Cornejo spent the rest of 2022 and most of 2023 collaborating with artists like Yahritza y Su Esencia ("Inseparables") and Becky G ("2ndo Chance") before dropping his third full-length Miradas in 2024. Including influences from Regional Mexican music and alternative rock in equal measure, the album was his debut for Interscope and topped the US Top Latin Albums chart and the Regional Mexican Albums Chart upon its release.
