Legado 7, a norteño group hailing from Orange County, California, has carved out a unique niche in the Regional Mexican music scene with their signature "lumbre corridos"—songs that celebrate marijuana culture. Formed in 2014 by lead vocalist Alexander Guerra and accordionist Ramón Ruiz, the band quickly became known for their distinctive sound and thematic focus, which sets them apart from traditional narcocorrido acts. Their live debut album, 100% Corridos Verdes, released in 2016, laid the foundation for their rise, followed by the live album En Vivo Desde OK Corral. In 2017, they signed with Rancho Humilde, a label known for corridos tumbados, and released Un Chamaco Sin Futuro. The following years saw them solidify their position in the genre with notable releases like Para Lumbre (2018) and El Seven de la Suerte (2019), both of which featured collaborations with top acts like Fuerza Regida and Natanael Cano. In 2020, they continued their collaborative streak with the EP Duetos Con La Clika and the album L.A. Lumbre in 2021, which featured hit singles like "Reyes Magos" and "El Jeffrey." The group stuck to their tried-and-true formula for their next album, 2024's Pa Que Se Motiven, which featured collaborations with Hernán Trejo, Kane Rodriguez, Herencia de Patrones, and many more.
