Jannabi

Known for their ambitious scope and high-energy live performances, K-indie rock band Jannabi (an archaic Korean word for "monkey") was formed in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, in 2012. After a brief stint as trainees for different entertainment companies and participating in the fifth season of television talent show Superstar K5, lead singer Choi Jung-hoon and guitarist Kim Do-hyung decided to embark on a musical adventure of their own that began with the 2014 genre-hopping single "Rocket." Later that year, the single "Baby I Need You" became their first charting hit by reaching Number 15 on the K-pop Hot 100. After the release of their debut EP See Your Eyes in late 2014, the band's lineup was completed with the addition of bassist Jang Kyung-joon and drummer Yoon Kyul. Monkey Hotel, their first studio full-length, appeared in 2016 and was followed by their breakthrough album Legend in 2019. Thanks to the success of the chart-topping, platinum-selling single "For Lovers Who Hesitate," the LP climbed to Number 7 on the Gaon charts and propelled the band to new heights of popularity. In the following years, Jannabi continued expanding their sonic palette with titles like Jannabi's Small Pieces I (2020), The Land of Fantasy (2021), and Jannabi's Small Pieces II: Grippin' the Green (2022), all of which fared extremely well in the South Korean charts.
