Christian singer/songwriter Joel Vaughn was born June 15, 1986 in Amarillo, Texas to a family that loved to play music. During his formative years he learned how to sing as well as play drums and guitar. He began to lead worship services during his studies at West Texas A&M, and balanced his spiritual calling with his musical one for the next few years. His debut EP, 2009’s Bigger Than Me as well as his first full album, 2010’s Don’t Give Up, showcased his pop sensibilities, often wedded to electronic dance beats, as well as his explicitly spiritual and religious lyrics. 2011 brought about a crisis that led him to step away from both the church and his career for nearly two years before returning with renewed focus to each. 2014’s In the Waiting LP was followed by a self-titled EP in 2015 that led to him being signed by Dream Records., The 2016 EP Kinetic featured dance remixes of some of its songs. In fall of 2020 he dropped the radio-friendly pop single “Already Done” just ahead of the release of his fourth studio album, Louder Than the Lies.
