German singer-songwriter Joris Buchholz was born on December 1, 1989 and grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia. He began making music at the age of five, gaining his first experience on the drums, piano, guitar and writing songs. He met the members of his future band at the Popakademie in Mannheim. in 2014, Joris finally receives a record deal with the music label Four Music and releases his first song under the title "Im Schneckenhaus". Another single, "Herz über Kopf", followed in March 2015. The debut album Hoffnungslos Hoffnungsvoll immediately reaches third place in the German album charts in April 2015 and achieves gold status in Germany. in 2016, Joris won three Echos before his second studio album Schrei es raus was released on October 5, 2018, which, like his third album Willkommen Goodbye (2021), made it into the German, Austrian and Swiss album charts. in 2021, Joris released collaborations with Gentleman and Jugglerz ("Immer Noch Hier") as well as with crime novelist Sebastian Fitzek ("Leb Wohl").
