Jovem Dionisio is a Brazilian indie pop and bedroom pop band formed in 2019 in Curitiba, Paraná. The band consists of Bernardo Pasquali (vocals), Rafael "Fufa" Dunajski Mendes (guitar), Gustavo Karam (bass), Bernardo Hey (keyboard), and Gabriel "Mendão" Dunajski Mendes (drums). The band's roots trace back to 2012 when Rafael and Gustavo Mendes formed the band Huff, along with their friends. The group's first performance was during their senior year of high school, where they played cover songs by both Brazilian and international bands. As their musical journey progressed, they rebranded as Jovem Dionisio in 2019, inspired by a local bar owner named Dionísio. Their debut EP, Dança Entre Casais, was released in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they recorded their first single "Pontos de Exclamação," which gained significant popularity. The song was later remixed by Vintage Culture and Future Class, expanding its reach to the electronic music community. In 2020, Jovem Dionisio signed a contract with Sony Music and was named "Artist of the Month" by Apple Music. The music video for "Pontos de Exclamação" garnered over 23 million views on their streaming channel, marking a significant milestone in their career. They followed this success with the release of their studio debut Acorda, Pedrinho, in 2022, which earned them a nomination for Best Pop/Rock Group at the Prêmio da Música Brasileira a year later. "Acorda Pedrinho," the album's title track, reached the top of the Brazilian Top 100. In 2024, Jovem Dionisio returned with a second LP titled Ontem Eu Tinha Certeza (Hoje Eu Tenho Mais), a 12-track album that featured the hit single "to bem" and contributions from Arnaldo Antunes, Paulo Leminski, and Grupo Menos É Mais.
