Kalim

The German rapper Kalim Schamim, who performs under his first name, was born in Hamburg in 1992. The artist comes from an Afghan family. Through his cousin Farhot, a Hamburg music producer, and his family in the USA, he became interested in hip-hop music at a young age. The artist began rapping at the age of just 13 and released his mixtape "Wo ich wohn" in 2011. At the end of the same year, the single "AON Spezial", recorded together with SSIO and Xatar, was released. The mixtape Sechs Kronen, released in 2014, features further tracks on which SSIO, Xatar and Nate57 collaborated. The mixtape reaches number 30 in the German album charts. Two years later, Kalim released his debut album Odyssee 579, followed by his second album Thronfolger in 2017. Both albums feature the rappers Gzuz, Luciano and Bausa. Another two years later, Kalim released his album Null auf Hundert. Among others, reezy, Jamule, Luciano, Nimo, Lary and Ufo361 worked on the songs. The German rapper's album MVP is released in fall 2020. Luciano, reezy and Ufo361 as well as the previously unknown musicians bandobaylevo and YY are once again working on the songs for this album. This is followed by T.O.T.Y. (2021) and B2B (2022) further albums followed. Together with Pajel, Kalim achieved a top 10 hit in Germany in 2023 with the single "16", which reached number 7. Another studio album, Partys, Pain & Pistolen, followed at the end of the year. At the end of 2024, Kalim released his next album, Nur für meine Augen. The album reaches number 28 in Germany and Switzerland.
