Gzuz (born June 29, 1988 in Hamburg) is a singer and rapper from Germany. Born Kristoffer Jonas Klauß, his stage name is a shortened form of Ghetto-Zeug unzensiert. His music is mainly characterized by his youth with crime and drugs. After his first releases in 2006, Gzuz became a member of the German hip-hop band 187 Strassenbande. This also brought him his first successes. In 2014, Gzuz released the album High & Hungry together with 187 Strassenbande member Bonez MC. It made it to number 9 in the German charts. Due to this success, Gzuz also tried his hand as a solo artist. In 2015, his debut album Ebbe & Flut is released, with which Gzuz immediately reaches number 2 in the German charts. The follow-up Wolke 7 (2018) becomes Gzuz's first number 1 album. The third, self-titled album Gzuz (2020) also reaches the top position in the German charts. The series of number 1 albums did not stop with the next album Große Freiheit in 2022. Together with fellow rapper Bonez MC, Gzuz released the joint longplayer High & Hungry 3 in 2023. The album reaches number 1 in the German-language charts and the single "Cinnamon Roll" becomes a number 1 hit in Austria. Some of Gzuz's best-known and most successful songs are "¿ Was Hast Du Gedacht ?", "Was Erlebt", "¿ Warum ?", "Vor der Tür" and "Donuts". Gzuz has received several Hiphop.de awards for his music. Gzuz has achieved multiple platinum and gold status in Germany with his music. The rapper achieved further number 1 hits together with Bonez MC and RAF Camora with the single "Kokain" (2018) and with KitschKrieg, Trettmann, Gringo and Ufo361 and the single "Standard" (2018). In 2024, Gzuz released another solo album, Freitag der 13. The longplayer reached number 2 in Germany and Switzerland.
