Celo & Abdi

Celo & Abdi is a rap duo from Germany. The band is made up of Celo, real name Erol Huseinćehajić, and Abdi, real name Abderrahim el Ommali. The two met at work in 2008 and share a passion for rap music. In 2011, they released their first mixtape, Mietwagentape, which attracted a lot of attention on social media. Rapper Haftbefehl also heard about it and signed the two hip-hop artists to his label Azzlackz. The official debut album Hinterhofjargon is released in 2012. Celo & Abdi hit number 8 in Germany straight away, and the rappers achieved even greater success with the follow-up Akupunktur in 2014. The longplayer climbed to No. 3 in Germany and also reached top positions in Austria and Switzerland at No. 14 and No. 10. Celo & Abdi released the albums Bonchance (2015), Diaspora (2017) and Mietwagentape 2 (2021) in the following years. The two singers also regularly collaborate with other hip-hop artists, including Automatikk, Haftbefehl, Eko Fresh, Nimo and Kool Savas. In 2022, the single "#weisstduwasichmein" was released together with singer Liz. Together with rapper Olexesh, the single "Ferrari Motor" reaches number 70 in the German charts in 2023. In May, the single "So So Def" follows together with Summer Cem and Nimo . The song reaches number 26 in Germany and number 55 in Switzerland. Another studio album, Duo Numero Uno, followed in the same year. In August 2024, the album climbed to number 14 in the German charts.
