Kassé Mady Diabaté

Hailed by Salif Keita as Mali's greatest singer, Kassé Mady Diabaté descends from a long line of griots. Born in 1949, he achieved international recognition only belatedly with the album Fodé, released in 1988. However, he remains little-known for his talent, recording only the albums Kassi Kassé (2003) and Manden Djeli Kan (2009) under his own name. The singer also participates in various musical crossbreeding projects such as Afrocubism and Rivière Noire. In 2014, Kassé Mady Diabaté celebrated fifty years in the music business with Kiriké, produced by Vincent Segal.
