KayBlack, born Kaique Menezes on March 12, 2000, in São Paulo, is a Brazilian rapper known for blending funk and rap in his music. His journey began at just 12 years old, writing his first tracks while working as a producer for his brother, MC Caverinha. KayBlack’s breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of the single "Bandido Mau," which garnered over 5 million views on his channel, catapulting him into the spotlight. Signed with Elenko Music, he quickly rose to prominence in the Brazilian music scene. In 2022, he and his brother were recognized in Forbes' Under 30 list, marking a significant milestone in his career. By 2023, KayBlack had signed a contract with Warner Music Brasil and released his debut EP Contradições, featuring collaborations with artists like Vulgo FK, Veigh, and Baco Exu do Blues. His popularity soared that year, and by April, he became the second most-streamed artist in Brazil, surpassing even prominent sertanejo artists. With influences from MC PP da VS, Roddy Ricch, and the pagode music his father loved, KayBlack continues to break barriers in both music and fashion, cementing his place as a key figure in the Brazilian rap and funk scenes. In 2024, he released his second EP Mistérios, with its title track as the lead single.
