An award-winning rapper, songwriter, and prominent member of Nigeria's Afro-Fusion movement, Kcee was born in Lagos on April 18, 1979. After performing with the duo Kc Presh for more than a decade, he launched his solo career with 2013's Takeover. Both the album and its internationally-acclaimed single, "Limpopo," won awards at The Headies, Nigeria's annual hip-hop awards show. His second album, Attention to Detail, was released in 2017, with the hit single "Cultural Praise" following in 2020. Meanwhile, Kcee also co-founded the label Five Star Music with his brother, billionaire businessman Emeka Okonkwo, and was named Nigeria's Peace Ambassador by former First Lady Patience Jonathan.
