Njang Mengu Collins was born in Kumba, Cameroon, on November 18, 1992. The man who came to be known as Ko-c grew up in northwest Cameroon, where he initially studied business administration. Despite his serious appearance, music has been with him since the age of 20, when he wrote his first song. Three years would pass before his musical destiny became a reality, when in 2015 he joined the group PIM Boys (for Preach It Movement Boys), which signed with BTS Empire, an American record label. In the band, he honed his musical skills and made his first contact with the industry, notably through "Ici Au Kamer", a track released in March 2016. The following year, Ko-c went solo with several tracks: "Balancé", "I Love You" featuring Locko and "Bollo C'est Bollo". It was this trajectory that would gradually influence most of his artistic career. After these first singles, which quickly won over the public ("Bollo C'est Bollo " garnered several million views on YouTube), Ko-c continued his ascent and calmly prepared his first album. While a number of tracks were released, including "Balancé", "Ça A Cuit " and "Mon Pala Pala", all popular hits, the Cameroonian asserted his style: afropop influenced by a wide spectrum of urban music, from hip-hop to amapiano. Now known and recognized not only in Cameroon but internationally, on March 3, 2023, Ko-c released Genesis, his first album, making his mark on Cameroon's musical heritage.
