The entertainment industry can be a fickle business and the Chinese-Canadian actor and singer Kris Wu is no stranger to the bittersweet world of celebrity. After being voted Best Actor at the 29th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2016 he was brought down to earth the following year when he was voted Most Disappointing Actor at the influential Golden Broom Awards. Wu is unlikely to be fazed by such trivia given he has starred in some of the highest grossing movies in the Chinese movie business. His rise to fame began in 2012 when the South-Korean artist management company SM Entertainment selected him to become a member of their latest boy band project EXO. The band enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame and prior to his departure from the EXO, Wu featured on their successful 'Overdose' album which became the bestselling South-Korean album of 2014 and the first album for more than a decade to sell over a million copies in South Korea. Wu has successfully managed to juggle the demands of being one of South Korea's best known singers and actors and has been listed by Forbes as one of Asia's most influential people under the age of 30.
