The American rapper Lady London was born as "Zaire Miylaun Stewart" on June 25, 1995. Hailing from the New York City borough of the Bronx, she was raised by her grandmother in nearby East Orange, New Jersey. Although Stewart began writing poetry at a young age, she entered college as a pre-med student, hoping to eventually become an orthopedic surgeon for the NFL. Things changed in March 2018, when she recorded a video of herself freestyle rapping while seated in a car. The clip was uploaded to social media and went viral, eventually earning 9 million views. Combining her poetry background with a tough, no-nonsense delivery, Stewart transformed herself into Lady London with the release of her debut single, "Woosah," in July 2019. The follow-up singles "Money Over" and "Never" both appeared in 2021. Lady Like: The Boss Tape, her debut mixtape, followed in early 2022. Alongside fellow rappers like Lil Yachty and Method Man, she starred in the film On the Come Up later that year, making her acting debut while also appearing on the movie's soundtrack. After signing a record deal with High Standardz and Def Jam, she released her full-length debut album, S.O.U.L., in November 2023. "Do Something," the album's second single, entered the Top 40 Radio Mainstream R&B / Hip-Hop chart in March 2024, debuting at number 37.
