Born Leondra Roshawn Gay on 24 April 2001 in El Paso, Texas, Houston rapper Monaleo brings tough-talking, zinger-filled rap lyricism and acoustic balladry together for a sound that's both empowered and smooth. She struck out and immediately gained attention in 2020 with her debut, Merion Krazy-produced single "Beating Down Yo Block," featuring a sample of "Knockin Pictures Off Da Wall" by Yungstar. The following year, the track hit the viral highs of TikTok fame and launched her star into orbit. The singles "Girls Outside" and "Suck It Up" followed. Her debut studio album, the Flo Milli-featuring Where the Flowers Don't Die, arrived in 2023. A new single, "Don Who Leo," saw the light in 2024.
