Larry Gaaga is the stage name of Nigerian songwriter, producer, and record executive Larry Ndianefo, who rose to fame in 2017 with the hit single “Gaga Shuffle.” He began his career in the 2010s as the general manager for YSG Entertainment, working closely with the rapper Vector. A year later, Larry Gaaga went on to feature on Vector’s track “Get Down” and received a nomination for Entertainment Man of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Named after one of his signature dance moves, the single “Gaga Shuffle” with singer 2Baba arrived in 2017 and became an unexpected hit, encouraging Larry Gaaga to pursue a career in music. He followed up in 2018 with the singles “Wonderful” featuring Wande Coal and Sarkodie, and “Doe” featuring Davido. The success of these singles helped Larry Gaaga land a recording deal with Universal Music Group Nigeria, which released the singles “Iworiwo” with 2Baba and “Low” with Wizkid in 2019. That year, he was also featured on the soundtrack of the sequel to the Nigerian thriller Living in Bondage. Following the release of his studio debut Nneka (The Pretty Serpent) in 2020, Larry Gaaga teamed up with Pete Edochie, Theresa Onuorah, Flavour, and Phyno for the Afropop single “Egedege,” released in 2021.
