A music and film enthusiast, pianist Laurent Aknin followed a classical path, composing themes for the big and small screens. His career began with the group Atma, of which he is the main composer and one of the performers, and with whom he produced the albums C'est Le Même Ciel and J'Aspire. In 2002, he composed his first film soundtrack for the feature film Irène. This collaboration with director Ivan Calbérac would extend to other films such as On Va S'aimer (2006), Une Semaine Sur Deux (2009), L'Étudiante et Monsieur Henri (2015) and Venise N'est Pas En Italie (2019). Meanwhile, Laurent Aknin works on other film and TV scores, including Jour J and Baby Phone (2017). He also composes theme music for the cartoons Woofy (2010) and Matt et les monstres (2010), plays, commercials, companies and events such as fashion shows.
