Leisure

Formed in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2015, Leisure brought together a number of longtime members of Auckland's music scene, including Cool Rainbows frontman Djeisan Suskov, Goodnight Nurse's Jaden Parkes, Kidz in Space's Josh Fountain, Kids of 88's Jordan Arts, and Tom Young. Due to Goodnight Nurse's gold-certified debut album and Kids of 88's Top 5 single "My House," Leisure was a hailed as a supergroup in the band's homeland. After signing with Nettwerk Music Group and releasing a well-received single, "Got it Bad," the group made its public debut in 2016 with the self-titled Leisure. The album reached Number 2 on the New Zealand charts, and its success of various digital platforms helped spread the band's music to a global audience. A European tour followed, and Leisure returned in 2019 with another album, Twister. Both records featured a mix of electronic grooves and pop melodies, and when Leisure headed to Europe once again for another round of touring, the band decided to remain in Paris for several weeks to work on new material. The result was 2020's Side A, an EP that doubled as the first half of the band's third album, Sunsetter. The rest of Sunsetter arrived in 2021. One year later, the song "All Over You" — a track from Leisure's self-titled debut in 2016 — became a surprise hit in several Asian countries, charting in both Thailand and South Korea.
