Adding a splash of humour and surrealism to their pop-rock and French punk-aligned offerings, Quebec band Les Trois Accords formed in Drummondville, in the Centre-du-Québec region, in 1997. Originally composed of Simon Proulx (guitar, vocals) and Olivier Benoit (until 2009), who were joined in 2001 by guitarist Alexandre Parr, drummer Charles Dubreuil, and bassist Pierre-Luc Boisvert, the newly expanded band released their debut album Gros Mammouth Album in 2003. The follow-up, Grand Champion International de Course, landed in 2006 and featured the single "Grand Champion." The previous year, the band had opened for The Rolling Stones in New Brunswick, which no doubt helped to boost their profile. Third album Dans Mon Corps was released in 2009, with a fourth LP, J'aime Ta Grand-Mère, following in 2012. Maintaining the same lineup since the early days, Les Trois Accords unleashed their fifth album Joie d'Être Gai in 2015 and sixth album Beaucoup de Plaisir in 2018.
