Quebec rock band founded in 1998 by Éric St-Arnaud, Martin Boucher and Nicolas Bélanger. At the start of their career, the trio called themselves Belzébuth. From 1999 to 2001, several members joined and left the band. It was also during this period that the group changed its name to Longue Distance. In spring 2001, the band played their first major shows in Trois-Rivières. In winter 2002, the song " Abitibi " enters rotation on radio stations in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick. In August of the same year, they begin recording their eponymous debut album, which is released in the fall, along with their song " Mes 18 ans ", which is sent out to radio stations. They record a music video for the song in autumn 2003, which remains at number one on the Musique Plus television station for two months. The following spring, the band is released from their record company. They founded Disque Belzébuth and prepared their second album, Le Silence des Kilomètres, which hit stores on April 26, 2005. The song " Maudit qu't'es belle " becomes the radio hit of this opus. The band's third album, Immortels, was released on April 3, 2007. In summer 2008, Longue Distance travels to Brittany to play with the group Mes Aïeux at the Festival Le Retour du Lys in Dinan. Their fourth album, Mon Équilibre, was released on May 26, 2009, but met with little success. Instead, their contribution to rapper Sir Pathétik's song " J't'ai failli " brought them radio airplay during this period. In 2011, the band stabilizes, with André Morneau, Jean-François Carrier, Michel Loranger, Nicolas Bélanger and Steve Caron joining them. 2011 also marks the recording of another album for the band, On Va Rouler . Due to the singer's health problems, it was released in February 2013, also marking the band's fifteenth anniversary. After a few years' absence, the band returned with the single " Libres et amoureux " in October 2020.
