Lorenzo Antonio, an American singer-songwriter of Latin music, rose to fame in 1982 after winning 1er Festival Juguemos A Cantar in Mexico with the hit "Vamos a Jugar," launching a career that made him a staple in the Latin pop and regional music scene. Born on October 3, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was raised between the U.S. and Mexico, where he developed a bilingual repertoire spanning romantic ballads, rancheras, and mariachi. As a solo artist, he gained recognition with hits like "Muchachita," "Busco Un Amor," and "Doce Rosas," the latter becoming one of the most beloved Latin ballads of the 1980s. Throughout the 1990s, he collaborated with Juan Gabriel, released successful tribute albums, and wrote songs for Sparx, the girl group formed by his sisters. Later signing with Fonovisa, he transitioned into the Regional Mexican market, scoring chart success with "El No Te Quiere" and "No Quieren Que Te Quiera." His foray into Regional Mexican music continued during the following decades through releases like Ranch3ras (2008), Exitos Rancheros (2015), and Con Mariachi (2016).
