Born in Caborca, Sonora, Mexico on February 28, 1996, Luis R. Conriquez is a singer and musician who specializes in Sinaloa-style banda music. His music has received millions of streams on social media platforms. Interested in music while growing up, he quit his gas station job in 2018 to pursue a career as a singer, songwriter, and musician. Signing to the Kartel Music label, he released his first album, Mis Inicios, in 2018. A prolific artist, he released three albums in 2019: Pocos Pero Locos, Aqui Seguimo De Pie, and the compilation Corridos 2019, Vol. 2. Luis R. Conriquez scored a Top 10 hit on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart with his single “El Buho” (featured on the album Corridos 2019, Vol. 2). He continued to release a series of singles and albums but didn’t come to international prominence until he collaborated with the group La Adictiva on the 2022 single “JGL,” which hit number 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart. He courted controversy when he collaborated with singer Peso Pluma on the hit song “Siempre Pendientes,” which glorified the lifestyle of drug lord ‘El Chapo.” While the song was a commercial success, the video was pulled from major video streaming platforms due to its subject matter. Luis R. Conriquez continued to release solo singles and albums while also achieving success when he collaborated with other artists including Grupo Firme, Nicky Jam, Natanael Cano, Tito Double P, Los Dareyes de la Sierra, Edgardo Nuñez, Ryan Castro, and others. Further releases by Luis R. Conriquez include Corridos Bélicos, Vol. 3 (2022) and Corridos Bélicos, Vol. IV (2024) and many singles including 2024’s “Triston,” “Que Se Cuide,” “Martes 13,” and “Si No Quieres No.”
