Brazilian sertanejo duo Maiara & Maraisa, formed by twin sisters Maiara Carla Henrique Pereira and Carla Maraísa Henrique Pereira, rose to fame with their modern take on the sertanejo genre, highlighted by hits like “10%” and “Medo Bobo.” Born in São José dos Quatro Marcos, Mato Grosso, the duo spent their early years moving across Brazil with their family. Demonstrating a love for music from an early age, they took the stage for the first time at age five. In 2004, they released their first album, Gêmeas Totalmente Livre, and began refining their sound. The mentorship of well-known sertanejo duo Jorge & Mateus played a significant role in their breakthrough, supporting them in a journey that eventually led to the 2016 album Ao Vivo em Goiânia. This release featured career-defining songs like “No Dia do Seu Casamento” and “Se Olha no Espelho,” solidifying their reputation and positioning them as pioneers in the “feminejo” subgenre. Their subsequent album, 2017's Ao Vivo em Campo Grande, included popular tracks like “Bengala & Crochê,” further cementing their influence in Brazilian music. They followed this success with other popular live releases such as Reflexo (2018), Aqui em Casa (2020), Incomparável (2021) Identidade and Ao Vivo (2023), and em Portugal Vol. 1 & 2. (2023). 2024 saw the release of the live EP iMEMsidão EP 01 (Ao Vivo em Goiânia), whose lead single "Vai Lá" peaked at number 13 on the Brazilian Billboard charts.
