Maijin

Maijin (real name: Hwajin Kim) is a South Korean trot singer born on January 27, 1987, in Seoul. She gained early recognition in the music industry by winning the grand prize at the 2008 Dokdo Song Festival and securing a gold medal at the 2010 Local Song Festival. Her official debut came in 2013 with the release of One-sided Love, marking the beginning of her career as a professional trot singer. Over the years, Maijin built her reputation through numerous broadcast appearances. In 2020, she was recognized as a rising star in the trot scene, participating in MBC's I Am a Trot Singer and KBS's Trot National Sports Festival. Her performances of Kim Yeon-ja’s classics left a strong impression, though she faced elimination in a one-on-one match against Choi Hyang. Continuing her rise, Maijin won her head-to-head match in MBN Hello Trot (2021) as a standout member of Seol Woon-do’s team. She further cemented her popularity in MBN Active King (2023), finishing as runner-up by just 0.7 points. In March 2025, Maijin released her latest album, Recall of Love.
