Maja Ivarsson

Since 1998, Maja Ivarsson has been the lead singer of Swedish rock band The Sounds. Born in Kristianstad on October 2, 1979, at the age of 21 she joined The Sounds, a group of childhood friends with a style of alternative rock influenced by new wave and post-punk. Alongside guitarist and vocalist Felix Rodriguez, she took part in the recording of six studio albums produced up to 2020 by one of Sweden's most popular rock bands. In addition to collaborations with Andreas Mattson, Cobra Starship, Alice in Videoland, All Time Low, Felix Cartal and Andreas Kleerup between 2002 and 2014, Maja Ivarsson launched her solo career in 2013 with the EP Så mycket bättre - Tolkningarna, and returned under her own name in 2025 with the pop song "Kamikaze Life", which reached No. 13 in the charts and reached the final of Melodifestivalen 2025.
