Malajube

This indie pop-rock revelation of 2006 hails from Montreal. Malajube have convinced those lucky enough to see them live on stage, where the originality of their zany, disquieting songs is expressed in full force. But it's mainly thanks to their second album, the superb Trompe L'Oeil, that French-speaking Malajube have won over the rest of Canada, the United States and especially Europe. Crowned with distinctions, adorned with the elegance of their surrealist poetry, the members of Malajube stand out thanks to their propensity to give their rock an air of mad polyphony, in the manner of their cousins in Arcade Fire, a band whose glorious path they seem determined to follow. They return in 2009 with Labyrinthes, proving that success has simply kept their gentle madness intact.
