Italian singer-songwriter Marco Masini came to attention when he finished third in the Sanremo Music Festival competition in 1991. At the age of 27 his song 'Perché Lo Fai' earned him recognition at the Festival and he released a self-titled debut album quickly followed by his second offering 'Malinconoia' (1992). In 1993 he released 'T'innamorerai' which became his breakthrough album with the controversial lead single 'Vaffanculo' proving an instant success. Combining influences from many different genres including rock, classical and blues, Masini set out on a European tour, expanding his fan base along the way. His 1995 album 'Il Cielo Della Vergine' topped charts in Switzerland, The Netherlands and Italy followed by a three-year break from performing and recording. He returned with 1998's 'Scimmie' released on his own label Ma Records. 'Raccontami Di Te' followed in 2000 with 'Il Giardino Delle Api' in 2005, the 2006 collaboration with Umberto Tozzi titled 'Tozzi Masini', 2009's 'L'Italia... E Altre Storie', 'Niente Di Importante' in 2011 and the single 'Spostato Di Un Secondo' in 2017.
