Born in Zocca (Emilia-Romagna) on February 7, 1952, songwriter, guitarist and singer Vasco Rossi is one of Italy's most popular rock artists. He began his career in 1978 with the album ...Ma Cosa Vuoi Che Sia Una Canzone... and earned a reputation as a provocative songwriter, both in his lyrics and in his restless lifestyle, which earned him much criticism. Nevertheless, the singer was particularly prolific, recording an annual studio album until 1985. His greatest success came in 1993 with the album Gli Spari Sopra, his tenth platinum disc, featuring "Celebrate", a cover of the Irish band An Emotional Fish. Vasco Rossi continued to record at a steady pace throughout the following decade, also composing over 250 tracks for other artists, but interrupted his stage career in 2011, after a first London appearance marked by the album Vasco London Instant Live 04.05.2010 and Live Kom 011 (2012), live albums following the release of the studio recording Vivere o Niente (2011). However, he quickly dedicated himself to a new tour in 2015, followed by the album Tutto La Notte - Live Kom 015 (2016), to promote his seventeenth studio album Sono Innocente (2014). A new live album, Vasco Modena Park, saw the light of day in 2017, before the 2019 release of the single "Se Ti Potessi Dire" (No. 6). The singer totals fourteen albums ranked number one in his country. The series continues with Siamo qui, released in 2021 and featuring the track "La pioggia alla domenica" (no. 11). Although a new track appeared in 2023, "Gli Sbagli Che Fai", taken from the TV series dedicated to him, Il Supervissuto, Rossi devoted most of his time to the stage and his stadium tours. He releases the live albums Vasco Live Roma Circo Massimo (No. 3 in 2022) and Vasco Live Milano Sansiro (2025).
