Originally from Fort-de-France in the French overseas department of Martinique, zouk singer Maurane Voyer is the daughter of Gilles Voyer and Danielle René-Corail, members of the group Taxi Kréol. Trained as a singer from an early age, she began as a backing vocalist for artists such as Esy Kennenga and Méthis, before building a career under her own name with the debut tracks "Haïti pa pléré" or "Mizik" in 2012 and the local hit "Doudou" or "T'inquiète" in 2014. After further singles and the #RVDmau EP in 2017 came her debut album Bazar in 2020, which she was unable to defend on stage due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She collaborates with Lorenz and DJ Gil, then returns in 2022 with the album BBW, from which the tracks "Zaboka" and "Kole kole" are taken. An expanded edition followed in 2023, featuring the song "Viré fey", which reached number 17 in the Outre-Mer charts.
