Astrid Melissa Edwarda Horn Weitzberg (April 8, 1987), simply known as Melissa Horn, is a Swedish pop singer-songwriter. Born in Stockholm to singer Maritza Horn, she began writing songs at age 16 and signed a recording contract before she even finished high school. Her studio debut Långa nätter saw the light in 2008 and entered the Swedish Top 10 at Number 7. It was followed by Säg ingenting till mig in 2009, which peaked at Number 4 and earned her three Grammi nominations for Artist of the Year, Composer of the Year, and Lyricist of the Year. Released in 2011, her third album Innan jag kände dig soared to the top of the domestic charts and was presented through a promotional tour in Scandinavia. In the subsequent years, Melissa Horn remained at the forefront of her country’s mainstream pop scene with releases like Om du vill vara med mig (2013), Jag går nu (2015), and Konstgjord andning (2019), all of which cracked the Top 5 in her native Sweden. In 2021, she featured on the music TV show Så mycket bättre with a cover of Thomas Stenström’s “Aldrig vågat,” which in turn climbed to Number 18 on the Sverigetopplistan.
