MFBTY

Formed in South Korea in 2012, MFBTY – My Fans (Are) Better Than Yours – is a K-pop / hip-hop trio comprised of members Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae and Bizzy. The group’s name was derived from a joke that Tiger JK had made on social media in 2011 and the group decided to use it as their new moniker. The three members had been recording together and separately for several years but decided to make the group a full-time project, releasing their debut mini album, Sweet Dream, in March 2013. The release rose to Number 13 on the charts, paving way for a flurry of live and press activity throughout 2013. However, the band went on hiatus in 2014 after the death of Tiger JK’s father. Each member pursued solo projects until the three members reunited and renamed themselves YoonMiRae featuring Tiger JK & Bizzy. They would then rotate names on the releases, depending on which member was predominantly featured on the recording (examples: Tiger JK featuring YoonMiRae & Bizz and Bizzy featuring Tiger JK and YoonMiRae). YoonMiRay featuring Tiger JK & Bizzy scored a hit with the single “Angel” in 2014, reaching Number 1 on the digital singles chart within 24 hours. The trio reverted back to the MFBTY name for the release of their debut album, Wondaland (2015), which included the hit singles "Hello Happy" (with You Lee-yeol) and "Bang Diggy Bang Bang." After several years out of the limelight, MFBTY returned with the EP Dream Catcher (2019).
