Yoon Mi-rae is a K-pop solo artist who also performs with the hip-hop trio MFBTY. Born as "Natasha Shanta Reid" on May 31, 1981, she spent part the earliest part of her childhood in Fort Hood, Texas, before moving to her mother's homeland, South Korea. At 16 years old, she joined the hip-hop group Uptown and performed with them for three years, then released the solo album As Time Goes By in 2001. As Time Goes By reached Number 7 in South Korea and sold more than 250,000 copies, with the follow-up albums Gemini and To My Love both cracking the Top 20 one year later. Despite her success on the Gaon Albums Chart, it wasn't until 2011 that Yoon Mi-rae charted a hit single. "Get It In," her duet with Choi Jung-in and Tiger JK, hit Number 5 that year, while "Turned Off The TV" — another coloration, this time in conjunction with Leessang and 10 cm - went to Number 1. Yoon Mi-rae scored another pair of Number 1 hits with 2013's "Touch Love" and 2014's "I Love You," both of which appeared on South Korean television soundtracks, then earned yet another chart-topper with her solo single "This Love" in 2015. That same year also marked the release of Wondaland, her first album as part of the hip-hop group MFBTY. Continuing to juggle multiple projects, she released the solo record Gemini 2 in 2018, the MFBTY single "Dream Catcher" in 2019, the duet "Red Lipstick" in 2021, and the Top 40 with "LAW" in 2022.
