Mid-Air Thief (Korean: 공중도둑; RR: Gongjungdoduk) is a pseudonymous South Korean folktronica musician, initially starting their career under the name Hyoo (휴) in 2012. His ream name is Shin, Jun-woo. The project evolved in 2015, adopting the name Gongjoong Doduk and releasing their debut self-titled album. This album earned critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Modern Rock Album at the 2016 Korean Music Awards. However, the project changed its name again to Mid-Air Thief after the release of the song "공중도덕" by rappers Dok2 and The Quiett on the show Show Me the Money 5. In 2018, Mid-Air Thief released their second album, Crumbling, which featured vocals by South Korean singer Summer Soul. The album quickly garnered attention from online music communities, and it went on to win Best Dance & Electronic Album at the 2019 Korean Music Awards. This success solidified Mid-Air Thief’s place in the South Korean indie music scene. In 2021, Mid-Air Thief contributed to the soundtrack of the anime Sonny Boy. Their third album, Flood Format, was released in 2022, marking a new phase in their sound, and was distributed via Bandcamp under the name Bird’s Eye Batang (새눈바탕).
