Modà

Italian pop-rock band Modà has enjoyed a string of successes since its formation in 2002. Hailing from Milan, it brought together singer Francesco Silvestre and guitarist Diego Arrigoni, second guitarist Matteo Alberti, bassist Stefano Forcella, keyboardist Paolo Bovi and drummer Manuel Signoretto. The group, christened Pop Doc, performed in local clubs and changed its name to Modà when it recorded its first EP, Via d'uscita (2003), before being noticed by the New Music International label, which released the debut album Ti amo veramente (2004), which reached No. 28 and earned a first hit of the same name as well as a gold disc. Selected for the Sanremo festival in 2005, Modà changed labels to sign with the independent Around the Music, and released the album Quello che non ti ho detto (No. 14 in 2006). This period is also marked by changes in musicians, with the departures of Bovi, Signoretto and Alberti, replaced by Enrico Zapparoli (guitar) and Claudio Dirani (drums), featured on the following album Sala d'attesa (2008), which reached No. 19. In 2010, Modà arrives on the Ultrasuoni label, created by the most important radio network. In fact, the songs on the Viva i romantici album are widely played, and the success proves to be major, with a six-week run at number one, a platinum disc later transformed into a diamond, and seven chart hits including "Sono già solo" (#2), "La notte" (#2) and "Arriverà", a duet with Emma that reaches #1. Selected for the Sanremo Festival in 2011, Modà returned in 2013 with the release of the album Gioia, which reached No. 1 with seven chart hits, including the No. 2 "Se si potesse non morire". Touring internationally in 2014, the band release the live album 2004-2014 - L'Originale and return to the studio for Passione maledetta (2015), also ranked #1. After signing with Believe, the album Testa o croce reaches No. 2 in 2019 and is released in a new edition the following year. Modà's eighth album, Buona fortuna, is divided into three parts: a first part in 2021 and the following two in 2022, without meeting with public favor. In 2025, Modà returned to the charts with the album 8 canzoni (no. 6) and the track "Non ti dimentico", performed at the 75th Sanremo Festival.
