Soumahoro Maury Féré, better known by his stage name Molaré, was born on May 2, 1979 in Marcory, Côte d'Ivoire. After studying marketing and communications in France, where he arrived in 1996, Molaré decided to pursue a career in music in 2001. Settling in Paris, he joined the collective nicknamed "La Jet Set", made up of expatriate Ivorian singers, including such well-known names as Douk Saga, Boro Sanguy, Lino Versace and Jean-Jacques Kouamé. All these artists contributed to the international influence of coupé-décalé, and Molaré developed its variants: he was the originator of the concepts of "boucan" and "décalé chinois" within the style. His first release, "Le Boucan ", released in 2003, features a strong percussion component and disseminates his approach to coupé-décalé. Although the Jet Set gradually faded, notably in 2006 with the sudden death of Douk Saga, Molaré pursued his career with several tracks and collaborations, such as "On Est Ensemble" with French rapper Mokobé, which popularized coupé-décalé in other musical spheres. Despite the collective's break-up, Molaré paid tribute to him with a song in memory of Douk Saga, and went solo with the album Ça Va Se Savoir , released in 2008. His success has led him to tour a number of countries, and to perform for the fiftieth anniversary of Benin's independence in Cotonou in 2010, attended by stars such as Akon. Also an entrepreneur, Molaré invests in Côte d'Ivoire with several companies, including M Group, 10 Positif and M Prod, which help to produce new talent. Constantly influential in the world of coupé-décalé, posterity crowned him Chevalier de l'ordre national du mérite in 2017, and his hits, such as the new "Tu Vas Y Arriver", make him one of Côte d'Ivoire's most appreciated personalities.
