South Korean singer-songwriter Moon Hee-joon was born on March 14, 1978, in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He began his career in 1996 as the leader of the popular boy band H.O.T., formed under SM Entertainment. The group debuted with the album We Hate All Kinds of Violence and gained fame with huge hits like "Candy" and "We Are the Future," the latter earning an MTV award for Best International Video. During his time with H.O.T., Moon Hee-joon was involved in composing, writing, and choreographing for the group. H.O.T. disbanded in May 2001 after releasing their final album Outside Castle. After the disbandment, Moon Hee-joon pursued a solo career under SM Entertainment, debuting with the chart-topping album Alone in 2001. He explored rock music with his albums Messiah (2002) and Legend (2003), before establishing his own company, PS Entertainment, and releasing the widely acclaimed album Triple X in 2005. Triple X peaked at number 10 on the Circle Albums Chart. Shortly after its release, Moon Hee-joon enlisted in the military. During his military service, he signed with SidusHQ and hosted the KFN Korean Army Broadcast Music Talk Show. He made a musical comeback in 2008 with Special Album, which reached number 7. He also released his first mini-album, Last Cry in 2009. After a break, he returned to the music scene in 2013 with the mini-album Begins.
