Mosty

Real name Nolwen Kouadio, the Ivory Coast rapper Mosty was born in 2003 and grew up in Port-Bouët, one of the ten communes of Abidjan, where she discovered music, mainly coupé-décalé, but also dance, which she took up from the age of 4. She left Côte d'Ivoire in 2017 to come and live with her mother in Essonne, France. She never lost interest in her African culture, however, and listened to leading Ivorian music artists such as Ziké, Meiway, Deza XXL and Ernesto Djédjé. In 2020, things began to accelerate: the young girl gradually gained notoriety by publishing short comedy videos recorded in her bedroom. Producer Mr. Béhi fell under Mosty's spell and offered to work with her in the studio to help her develop her own sound universe. In 2020, Mosty made her first appearance on the single "Bloqué Ta Guiss" by the artist King Lexus, which became a hit in Côte d'Ivoire. Mr. Béhi, sensing that his protégée was ready to stand on her own two feet, worked with Mosty to define the young rapper's sound. Together, they set their sights on a world blending trap and drill, defined by the first single "Matiko", a reference to the musical style popularized by Ivorian diva Chantal Taïba in the 1990s, which was originally a dance performed by Kroumen women. Also in 2020, Mosty appeared on Mr. Luck's successful single "MouMaMou" , which was followed by her track "Lêké", released a few weeks before a debut EP entitled Aya de Didiévi. The following year, the young rapper collaborated with Fababy, with Hmagnum, on her track "Ivoirien est chaud". She released her debut album Zimna Wojna in 2023. On it, Ana Bąk collaborates on the track "Afrodyta".
