Mr. Rain

Italian rapper and singer, Mr. Rain is the stage name of Mattia Balardi, born in Desenzano del Garda (Lombardy) on November 19, 1991. First appearing in 2011 with the Time 2 Eat mixtape, he collaborated with Osso when he took part in the X Factor Italia show in 2013. Failing to win the competition, the duo took part in the final show, and it was as a solo artist that Mr. Rain continued with the self-produced album Memories (2015), buoyed by the tracks "Tutto quello che ho" (gold record) and "Carillon " (platinum record). After another gold disc for "Supereroe" in 2016, the rapper enjoyed large-scale success with the album Butterfly Effect (2018), ranked No. 3 in Italy and certified platinum, as did the follow-up Petrichor, ranked No. 5 in 2021. Mr. Rain also scored a string of hits during these years, returning in 2022 with the album Fragile (no. 17). In December 2022, he appeared at the Sanremo Festival with the track "Supereroi", ranked no. 2 and the first single from the following album Pianeta di Miller (2024), which achieved the same chart position. This also includes the hits "La fine del mondo" with Sangiovanni, "Une milione di notti" with Clara, "Due altalene", then "Superheroes" with Beret and "Pericolosa" in later editions.
