Born in Saint-Élie-de-Caxton (Canada), Nicolas Pellerin is a Quebec folk singer. He began his career playing with the group Les Langues Fourchues, which released two albums, Que l'Devan Emporte le Restant in 2002 and Cache Ta Barzatte in 2003. He also worked as a violinist with artist Yves Lambert from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, he and his brother Fred Pellerin released their first album, Fred et Nicolas Pellerin . The following year, it won the Félix award for traditional album of the year at the ADISQ gala. In 2009, together with Simon Marion and Simon Lepage, he formed the trio Nicolas Pellerin et les Grands Hurleurs. They released their eponymous debut album in November 2009, and the following year won the Félix for traditional album of the year. In November 2011, the band released their second opus, Petit Grand d'Or, and in November 2015, the album 3/4 Fort . These 2 albums win the Félix for traditional album of the year, the year after their release. Stéphane Tellier replaces Simon Marion following this third album. In 2021, Stéphane Tellier leaves the band to pursue other projects, and the trio becomes a quartet, with the arrival of Olivier Rondeau and Tommy Gauthier. November sees the release of the group's fifth album, entitled Ellipse .
