Formed in 2021 by JYP Entertainment, Japanese-Korean idol group NIK united the top 11 members selected from the audition program G-EGG produced by Yoonhak of the dance and vocal boy group SUPERNOVA. Forming their namesake from an acronym for the English words "New", "Inspire" and "Kindle," the group comprises members from various other boy bands, including Lee Gunmin of K-pop boygroup B.I.G., Kang Hyeonsu of K-pop boygroups LC9 and BLK, Ko Gun and Park Ha of K-pop boygroup LUCENTE, Park Ha, Choi Sihyuk, and more. NIK made their official debut in Korea in September 2021 with the single “Santa Monica,” and their official Japanese debut in October 2021 with “Universe." 2022 marked the release of the "Better Spring" single and La Vida Loca EP.
